As members will be aware, the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic still continues to affect us all despite restrictions being relaxed in many areas worldwide. With the introduction of the vaccination programmes across the globe many people are becoming vaccinated to help us return to some form of normality.
We recognise that for overseas participants in particular there may be some difficulties regarding the delivery of run material and submissions. If any participant has any issue please contact us via email so that we are aware of the problem and can assist with this where possible.
In March 2020, UK NEQAS CPT implemented and developed service continuity plans, to enable us to continue providing EQA/PT services to ALL of our participants. As of January 2022, we continue to provide normal services with distributions and on-site assessments as scheduled, but will undertake review of the government guidance and act accordingly as and when advised of any changes in the current Covid status.
By continuing to adhere to strict social distancing guidelines these assessments have been very successful and we plan to continue with safe on-site assessments for the runs throughout the year. We will notify Participants of any further changes or delays should these occur.
The European Union In Vitro Diagnostics Regulation [Regulation (EU) 2017/746 (EU IVDR)] was implemented on the 26th May 2022. This is an important regulation and applies to manufacturers, importers, and distributors of IVDs within the European Union.
UK NEQAS, as the leading supplier of external quality assessment (EQA) schemes worldwide, felt it important to clarify the position of EQA materials within the IVDR regulations [https://euivdr.com/].
